Position Description:

We are currently recruiting candidates for the position of Business and Governance Manager on a large hydropower capital program engagement in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Responsibilities:
The Business and Governance Manager is a key role in the Program, specifically leading the Project Management Office (PMO) responsible for the overall operation of the program and efficient delivery of the projects.

Specific responsibilities include:
- Manage the PMO functions for the program, including program controls, cost estimating, commercial and risk management, systems management, document control, safety, stakeholder management, and project gateway approval processes.
- Lead large, complex teams through challenging project assignments and complex client environments.
- Lead the change to program delivery through realistic and optimistic behaviors. Use mentoring and coaching skills to develop the skills of the integrated client/MWH team to achieve the goals of the PMO.
- Monitor weekly and monthly staffing, financial performance reports, invoices, and corrective actions.
- Support monthly and weekly reporting responsibilities on the program.
- Accountable for assuring that projects are staffed with the appropriate resources

Requirements:

Job Qualifications:
- BA/BS Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, Construction Management, or equivalent degree required.
- Professional registration (Arch/PE/PG), Project Management Professional, or Program Management Professional certification highly desired.
- Ten years or more experience in program management, project controls, or related fields on large capital infrastructure programs (over $1-Billion)
- Strong working knowledge of effective program management and program delivery approaches and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a team of specialized employees and contractors in a coordinated and integrated manner.

Position: Civil Project Manager - Hydropower

Position Description:

Our client is looking to add an experienced Project Manager with a background in civil engineering based in Vancouver. The incumbent must reside in Canada and have the necessary approvals in place to work in Canada.

The position parameters include:
- Project Management of a complex hydro-electric power project - in the Definition Phase of development.
- Leadership of a project team within a program structure - tightly integrated day to day management of both internal/external resources
- Delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining a high level of client satisfaction
- Providing technical direction to both local and remote staff for design criteria development, calculations, specifications, and drawings for design-bid-build, design-build, EPC, and CM at risk projects
- Managing complex inter-relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Working closely with design team in fully developing designs, project drawings, and specifications
- Developing and evaluating alternatives for complex assignments

- 10+ years of progressive experience that includes civil/structural engineering involving locks, dams, hydroelectric powerhouses, penstocks, pump stations, pipelines, canals, and tunnels. Seismic and geotechnical experience is an advantage.
- Must have demonstrable success in working well with internal/external clients, multiple project managers, and the ability to coordinate work with multiple disciplines simultaneously.

Position: Senior Reliability Engineer

Position Description:

     Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Senior Reliability Engineer is responsible for overall Leadership in improving reliability metrics and performance to world class standards by determining and implementing methods to improve the reliability, availability and maintainability of plant rotating and stationary equipment for two plants in Northern Alberta.
     You will have an opportunity to influence and affect change as you provide technical guidance, direction and best practice recommendations to Management, Maintenance Superintendents as well as the Reliability and Maintenance Engineers as they pertain to Reliability of Static and Rotating Equipment.

Specific Responsibilities Will Include:
- Lead and Perform the reliability analysis of plant equipment performance and failure data to prioritize issues and opportunities for the development of PdM and PM strategies and tactics.
- Leading Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations and participation in the Corporate Reliability Network. Mentoring unit Reliability Engineers.
- Facilitating Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and PM optimization studies.
- Conducting equipment assessments during maintenance and inspection opportunities for life expectancy evaluation and repair quality.
- Developing equipment and installation standards and guidelines.
- Providing mentorship and support to Reliability and Maintenance Engineers, Project Managers and Predictive Maintenance Specialists.
- Review the work of Junior Reliability Engineers.
- Ability to guide and provide direction to the Junior Reliability Engineers.

Requirements:

Qualifications of the Position Include:
- Mechanical engineering degree or other engineering discipline with 7+ years of experience working as either a Reliability Engineer or a Maintenance Engineer with reliability ownership.
- Must be registered, or be eligible for registration, with APEGGA.
- Able to handle a large and varied workload.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of RCM II and PM optimization methodologies is preferred.
- Experience in safety management skills and practices.
- Exposure to vibration analysis, lubrication, thermography other PM/PdM technologies.
- Knowledge and experience with RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis), RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) and FMEA (Failure Models).
- Knowledge of pressure vessel, piping codes, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors and NDT inspection techniques.
- Experience working with MS Office. Experience with SAP is preferred.

Position Description:

Position Description:

The Mechanical Design Engineer will work on the Mining Hoist and Loading Project, working with a variety of activities such as planning, construction, budget reviews, equipment selection process and other project coordination type of activities. In this position the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with various contractors, operations team and strong Engineering team.

Areas of Contribution:
- Reporting to the Mine Expansion Superintendent, you are responsible for coordinating the development, planning and execution of Mine projects associated with the plant expansion such as: production hoist installation, and loading pocket upgrade.
- Your overall accountabilities are to ensure work is carried out safely, within schedule and budget, as well to make certain that all applicable technical requirements are met.

Responsibilities:
- Provide overall Project Management from project scope development through to startup, working with either in-house or external contractors as applicable to achieve the desired results;
- Apply knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations;
- Ensure successful completion of projects according to clearly defined and agreed-upon objectives;
- Make independent decisions on work methods and procedures within project scope;
- Prepare budgets, schedules and resource allocation plans for multi-discipline resources, incorporating best practices in cost control, risk analysis and schedule stewardship;
- Manage and control projects to ensure that objectives are met in an economical and timely manner, and that applicable standards, procedures and quality control requirements are either developed or met as required;
- Liaison between operations, maintenance, technical groups and outside contractors.

Requirements:

- Engineering degree or Engineering Technologist diploma with a minimum of 5 years experience and must be a registered or be eligible for registration with the appropriate professional association.
- Engineering, maintenance, project, and/or operations experience at an operating facility or a heavy industrial site is considered an asset.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with the technical and business management disciplines of engineering, as well as, procurement and construction activities;
- A proven appreciation for and demonstrated capabilities in the application of advanced methods of data collection, data analysis, and engineering/construction progress reporting.
